Credible websites
How can you tell a website is credible? Check for these simple indicators: literacy, real facts, and author. If any websites have a ton of clip art, pop-up adds and the author rants alot about their ideas, the website is probably not credible.
I have found two webistes that I think are fairly credible. Yahoo and conservapedia. Both websites are very up to date, their facts are real, no ranting and zero clip art. The information found in these sites can really help you to find things.

Literacy
What does it mean to be literate?
Traditional ideas state that literacy means you are able to read, write and communicate effectively. It is the opportunity for unlimited knowledge. As soon as you lean how to read your whole world opens up! I remember the day I learned to read. One moment I was struggling and the next i could read everything! It was so exhilarating to be able to read. It opened my eyes to new things and it made me feel empowered and enlightened. I cant imagine a world in which you are illiterate.
Does literacy mean the same thing in this modern day?
I think the meaning has changed a bit. From the ability to read and write to being able to use the computer quickly and efficiently. The knowledge of every computer program and the uses for each. It’s a giant task, some people are just not good with computers. I am one of those people, it is a miracle that I can get this thing to run! In my opinion literacy is definitely the ability to read, write, speak, and listen in socially recognised way, also incorporating tech savvyness.

How the Internent should be used
“The Internet is for porn”
WHAT IN THE WORLD?!
The internet maybe used for viewing pornographic sites but in my eyes the internet should ONLY be used as a resource. Its meant to help you with everything from school work to checking your bank account to buying a car. The Internet should be used as a educational tool and search engine. I dont think it should ever be used as a pleasure source for people who are unhappy with things. Little kids go on the internet for goodness sakes! Do you want to corrupt young children at such an early age with these disgusting sights? Young men are very easily enticed by these types of things, do you want to make him struggle even more and eventually have major problem with his marriage?
“But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery in his heart” Matthew 5:28
Porn destroys everything! The eyes are the window to the soul, and the mind remembers everything you have ever seen.

New media in my life
I use a cell phone, computer and iPod everyday. Having these things makes my life a little easier. The cell phone keeps me connected with my family and friends. The computer is a key part of school and everyday life. It can give you information on everything! It makes doing your homework so much easier and its also a great tool to use to stay in touch with people. Facebook and Skype are to very easy ways to chat with your friends online. Facebook is completely free and you can upload pictures, post your ideas and chat with your friends. My iPod is also another one of my favorite new technologies. It holds all of my music and its small and compact so it can fit into almost anything. I no longer have to guess what music i would be in the mod for on a long airplane trip and having to worry about scratching or breaking cds. Besides my iPod my cell phone, which is the Verizon LgVoyager, is the most important new technology to me. It keeps me intouch with my Dad and friends who have moved away. Its also a good thing to carry around in case your in trouble or become hurt.

New Media
My idea of “New Media” is that of technology made easy. In the early 70′s you had to get a clearence to even get on a computer for a hectic filled hour. Present day technology is easy for everyone, we have so many amazing new things and everything is made user friendly. Ipods, flat screen tv’s, digital cameras and cell phones that can do everything are just a few of the examples. Technology made simple is my idea of “New Media”.
